Syra "Acid Reign" Diaz is a multi-disciplinary artist and instrumentalist, known for her captivating rap performances and skill on the keys. With hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok and Instagram, she has built a strong online following through her sharp lyricism and dynamic presence. Beginning her artistic journey as a poet, following in her mother’s footsteps, Syra earned a curatorial apprenticeship with NXTHVN in 2020. She later collaborated with David Goldberg and Tahir Hemphill of the Rap Research Lab at ArtSpace New Haven, curating a virtual exhibit exploring technology’s role in popular culture and the criminal justice system. A 3rd-place winner at the 2022 International Festival of Arts & Ideas Youth Slam, she also starred as Hecate in MacBeth at the 2023 Elm Shakespeare Youth Festival. Most recently, Syra completed the International Festival of Arts & Ideas High School Fellowship, studying at CT State Community College in 2024 while gaining hands-on experience in festival production, performance, and community engagement.
